Its a mouthful we know, www.whichinterventionaldevice.com won't go down in history as the shortest url ever but it does what it says on the tin. Dr Philip Haslam realised a massive the lack of support or feedback in the medical community when trying to select medical (in particular interventional) devices. He thought that the web would be the medium in which to gain access to hundreds of professionals that may want to research or provide impartial feedback on medical devices.
Phil required a economical, flexible, and scalable solution that would suit his current and future needs. Phil approached us with the idea and Umbraco was the obvious solution, in fact we got excited at the prospect of being able to show off its power and flexibility.
As with every client (at least all of ours) speed was of the essence as Phil was heading into conference season and needed something credible to show his colleagues. So we aimed for beta 1 of the site to be released before the conferences, demostrating base functionality and potential for the future, this was produced within a month and provided the majority of functionality and more. It has grown significantly since then, mainly due to Phils hard work and a site that suits his needs.
